I’m the maid of honor in my best friends upcoming wedding which is proving to be lots of fun. I am trusted with supporting and loving her through this very exciting time in her life. In addition to just being a good friend, I also am working on some fun projects; like planning the bachelorette party (whoot whoot) and helping her shop for the big day.
A few months ago I helped her pick out the most beautiful wedding dress (the one she picked is a stunner, she is going to shut it down in this dress) and up next we will be checking out shoes.
Here is my 2 cents on the whole wedding shoe market.
Bridal shoes are tricky.
I believe a good wedding shoe should be one you want to wear again and again. Often times bridal shoes look way to costumey and to be honest just pretty whack.
Here are some the best wedding shoe designers who actually got it right.
In the past few years Aquazzura has become one of the most popular designer shoe brands. The company was founded in 2011 by Edgardo Osorio, who formerly worked at Ferragamo and knows a lot about women’s shoes. I’ve been a big fan of the brand for a few years now. Check out 6 Aquazzura shoes we are crazy about.
All of his shoes are made with leather from the best tanneries in Italy. In addition to aesthetics, there is a strong emphasis placed on comfort. Edgardo says he designs his shoes to make women more beautiful, to help her legs look longer, to give her a perfect silhouette. The bridal collection was released in 2015 and includes the lines most popular styles. Each shoe has been redesigned in white leathers and lace to make them perfect for your big day.
Aquazzura wedding shoes will cost between $600 and $1,700. They can be found at Shopbop and Saks Fifth Avenue.
2. Sophia Webster Bridal
“Girls just want to have fun” must be the theme of the Sophia Webster bridal collection. Well I guess the bridal collection is really no different from any of her other shoes. The London based shoe designer loves to give us beautiful statement shoes. Some of the bridal shoes have cute sayings like “Wifey for Lifey” printed on the soles. The collection also includes a pair of jelly sandals so if you are getting married on the beach, BAM!
Sophia Webster Bridal shoes range in price from $450 to $720 * Many of her shoes sell out very quickly so if you see a pair you really like I suggest you move quickly. They can be found at SophiaWebster.com
3. Jimmy Choo Bridal
The Jimmy Choo Cinderella (pictured below) shoe is so gorgeous that it can probably make this list complete on its own. If I could afford this shoe (sorry $5,000 is not in my price range right now) I would probably never take this shoe off. If you are like me and $5,000 for a pair of shoes is like not even an option, don’t fret Jimmy Choo has some other beautiful wedding shoes that don’t have such a high price tag. I love a great quality shoe but my motto is Don’t Go Broke Buying Designer Shoes.
Jimmy Choo Bridal Shoes range from $475-$5,000 and can be found at JimmyChoo.com
4. Badgley Mischka Wedding
Of all the designers on this list, Badgley Mischka probably has the most extensive collection of wedding shoes. They do wedding shoes and they do them really well! They have shoes in their collection with varying heel heights and shapes. The value for these shoes is also incredible as most of them can be purchased here for under $300.
5. Manolo Blahnik Wedding
The Manolo Blahnik Hangisi Pump is a classic wedding shoe. You remember the Carrie Bradshaw Sex and The City Shoe? Remember how hard she feel for that shoe? Yeah its a beauty. And if you are looking for your something blue, this shoe in royal blue is breathtaking. Manolo Blahnik also has a few other very beautiful bridal shoes.
Manolo Blahnik wedding shoes will cost between $695 and $965, and can be found at Nordstroms or Neiman Marcus.
